How we check facts
A newcomer can't tell a good tip from a stale one. So everything here shows where it came from and when we last checked it.
The checklist
Each step comes from the agency that runs it: Texas DPS, TxDMV, the Public Utility Commission, Tarrant County, the City of Fort Worth and the utilities themselves. Every step links to its source and shows the date we checked it. Rules change, especially around legislative sessions, so confirm with the official site before you act.
The guide
- Every place was checked open on Oct 31, 2026 using its own website or social accounts and recent local reporting.
- Local independents come first. Chains appear only where they're the practical option.
- No one pays to be listed or ranked. Sponsored features, when they exist, are labeled.
- We don't publish star ratings or reviews we didn't write.
Your data
- Your checklist progress and saved places stay in your browser. We don't see them.
- If you subscribe or send a form, we keep what you typed to run the letter and meetups. We never sell or share it.
- No ad trackers.
